More than 100 people from the health ecosystem participate in an active co-creation session to raise the technological challenges in the field of health
On November 23, 2017 in Sabadell, the HealthTech Cluster (Health Technology Cluster) organized the third edition of its annual debutante day with a new format called ‘unconference’. The day had more than 100 people from the entire value chain of the health ecosystem of Catalonia, with the participation of 15 facilitators, 13 rapporteurs and a total of 20 sessions. In this edition, the traditional format of conferences and round tables was disregarded to give voice to the attendees inspired by a facilitator to build parallel conversations that were shared in the conclusions sessions.
Themes were treated as diverse as Big Data, rehabilitation, medical imaging, bioethics and data protection, gamification, brain computing, sensory, biomaterials, and hybridization with other sectors such as tourism, sports or education, with workshops on design thinking, corporate venturing and artificial intelligence. Among the conclusions are the paradigm change in health with the empowerment of the patient, the prescription of services by the health model, the legal barriers in the collection of data that hinders the advancement of Big Data, the need to strengthen the triangle of the of innovation in health (university-business-clinic), rethink the models of health purchase towards results, the promotion of health prevention or the data session by patients in exchange for medical benefits, among others.
Also in the last part of the day presented the Ignite Talks, informal talks of a maximum of 5 minutes strict where some participants of the unconference dealt with different topics related to artificial intelligence and the future labor market, the interaction between humans and machines, the potential of gas sensors in health applications, the future of rehabilitation engineering or improving the design of health services.
