About Type 2 Diabetes
Diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by the presence of elevated blood glucose levels. This happens because the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or because the body can not effectively use the insulin it produces. If lacking insulin, which is the hormone that allows glucose to enter cells and can be used to produce energy, glucose builds up in the blood. Type 2 diabetes is characterized by decreased insulin production or An inadequate use of it; Usually diagnosed in people over 40 years.
